I've just come from Dave's blog, where he posted pics of his freshly knit scarf in Manos del Uruguay color 102. I commented that it looked familiar. I was right.
But just to be sure, I did some digging in the drawer that I keep all my old ball bands and labels in (um, yeah). And I found this. Hah!

I am a bad blogger. Two months between posts. Bad. Bad. Bad.
And it's not like I haven't been knitting. Yes, there was some frantic last-minute stuff for Hanukah but really, that's no excuse. Other bloggers have day jobs and families too and some of them blog nearly every day.
Oh well. I will try to do better.
Here are before-and-after pictures of a felted bowl that was a Hanukah gift for my brother Norm and sister-in-law Maureen. I think it measured about 45-50 cm (18-20 in) across before felting, and maybe 30 cm (12 in) after?
It was made of Lopi in a dark (but not quite navy) blue and two shades of gold, less than 1 ball of each. It really turned out well, if I say so myself.

This is so cool! I've made a couple of these baskets before using Lopi or White Buffalo, but this is the first time I've used Manos del Uruguay. It's awesome. It's a good thing I used a short cycle on the washing machine because this is the result. Here are before and after pics with my 15 cm (6 inch) needle gauge for scale. If you want to try this yourself I highly recommend that you buy this book:

I saw Stephanie's post and thought that I would show off my Rumple/Angel scarf too! Too bad you can't feel it. It is so soft but the Rumple has such a great texture too. Really, Fleece Artist and Handmaiden yarns are such a bargain!
