Finally Friday

I should have made my trip report on Monday, but I had to (unexpectedly) take the cat to the vet, take myself to my "annual" physical (which I apparently haven't had for three years), pick the cat up from the vet, do the grocery shopping and laundry that didn't get done on the weekend... Well, you get the idea. All hail Norma, hostess extraordinaire, for being a good blogger and doing her part to fill you all in on this year's Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival. But she didn't show you everything!

Norma showed you some of the many people we met, but we also saw many different critters. (click for bigger)

And here is my loot.

Blanket

1) A woven wool blanket, double bed size. It is dark red and natural white. There are 3 stripes at each end and it hangs exactly to the floor on each side of a twin bed. In this part of the world there are three blanket seasons and it is just right for Wool, the season that comes between Cotton and Duvet. Wool is my favourite.

Wool Top, Spindle, and Nostepinne New Spindle (top) New Spindle

2), 3), & 4) 8 oz wool top from Copper Moose, 10 inch mahogany nostepinde from Millpoint Emporium, and a 1.0 oz Golding RingSpindle (butternut top, walnut shaft, decorative edge).

5) A small painting by Dick Foster of Stannard, VT.

This photo doesn't do it justice. I will try to get a better one in good daylight without the flash. His rooster paintings were awesome too.

There were also three finger puppets - a couple of cute llamas that I took to the office for my Administrative Assistant Goddess, Cindy, and Mrs. Mo, an angora goat. Photo some other day, when I extract her from my back pack.

Anyway, I had a great time hanging out with Norma, Lee-Ann, and Twinkletoes. I daresay Rhinebeck will almost be anticlimactic.

Love the wool top. Be sure to show us what it looks like spun!

Do not be alarmed. This is just a test.

I agree with Sandy -- not anticlimactic, just different. (about as different as any two "similar" things can be, in fact, eh?!)

NO! Not anticlimactic! Just different!! :)
Did you say...roosters??
That painting is wonderful! and so is that blanket! I could have used it today as I decided to take a nap in the wonderful chilliness. It really IS too early to put on the heat!

I'm lovin' all the goodies, that spindle is beautiful as is the wool blanket.
Those critters are cute!
Not much there for the sheep to eat though...(I like the painting)
Good fun, great company.
