Better Late Than Never

My recipient from ISE3 posted quite a while back about receiving her scarf (which I mailed from Poughkeepsie, NY while attending Rhinebeck, and which she got on time, I might add). But I haven't posted about it here. So here it is again, for your ogling pleasure. I wish you could feel it too, as the Sea Silk just felt wonderful after washing and blocking - like a giant liquid ribbon of coolness.

As you can see, both sides are pretty and I got exactly the undulating seaweedy look I was hoping for. Scarf, I name thee "Kelp Garden".

Here are the particulars for my Kelp Garden Scarf:

Yarn: 100 g (500 m) Handmaiden Sea Silk
Needle: 2.5 mm (that's the elusive US 1.5)
Pattern: Vertical Drop Stitch from the Second Treasury by Barbara G. Walker. This 12-row pattern uses a multiple of 8 plus 4 stitches. I used 44 stitches, and worked 47.5 repeats, I think.

The blocked scarf was about 7 in wide and about 6 feet long. In the picture below, of the entire package contents before I wrapped it up, you can see the small remnant of the yarn that was left - not enough for another 12 rows.

And because I know someone is going to ask, the braided fibre was Wensleydale Teeswater sliver from Fleece Artist.

Your Kelp Garden scarf is gorgeous - do you still have the info on which colorway you used in Handmaiden Sea Silk? Thanks!

My eyes fail me... i am unable to identify the colourway that was used for the illustrated Kelp Garden Scarf. Please advise.

Ooooh! Love it, it looks so scrummy. Is it called seasilk because of the colour or have I missed something on the yarn front?

What a perfect scarf! I'm so pleased to see Sea Silk knit up, especially in a pattern that suits the fibre so perfectly. Yummy.

That is a simply stunning scarf -- and done on a 2.5 mm needle? Outstanding! -- it must be just wonderful. I have not had the pleasure of feeling or seeing Sea Silk. Sounds lovely.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I've had occasion to stick my fingers into some Sea Silk in the store. It felt wonderful then -- I can only imagine how it reacts with washing. "Giant liquid ribbon of coolness" -- I love it!!
